Man United dealt transfer blow as European giants lead race to sign transfer target

Manchester United are ready to support new manager Ruben Amorim in the upcoming transfer windows.

The Red Devils are struggling to perform this season, sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League standings at the moment.

Their recent results have once again showed that they need improvements in their squad.

The 2-0 defeat against Arsenal and the 3-2 defeat against Nottingham Forest have been an eye opener for Amorim.

One of the players Man United have been linked with since appointing Amorim at the club is Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres.

The Sweden international played under Amorim at the Portuguese club and under his leadership became one of the best strikers in the world.

Not only Man United but also their Premier League rivals Manchester City are eyeing a move for the prolific attacker.

However, there is a latest twist in the transfer saga now as another team has entered the race to sign Gyokeres.

Having scored 22 goals in just 18 games this season, the demand for signing Gyokeres is increasing every single week.

Man United will now have to beat both Man City and PSG to sign the attacker.

The presence of Amorim at the club may prove to be a decisive factor as the player has played his best football under the Portuguese and he would want to reunite with the manager.

Man United need a consistent goal scorer in the team

The Red Devils desperately need more goals in their team as their record this season is one of the worst in the league.

They have only scored 19 goals in the league this season and their goal difference is currently +1 after 15 matches.

They need a much more recognised scorer than Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, both of whom are struggling to perform consistently for the Red Devils.
