The Rams continued a run of uneven performances by scuffling past the Saints in Week 13 and their inconsistency made it difficult to generate much confidence that they would be able to handle a hot Bills team on Sunday.
That’s just what they did, however. Bills quarterback Josh Allen threw three touchdowns and ran for three more, but the Rams had an answer for everything the Bills threw at them over the course of a 44-42 win that did more than just bolster the team’s playoff hopes.
Running back Kyren Williams said after the game that the win showed the Rams that they can beat anyone in any type of game as long as they stay true to themselves.
“It tells us a lot,” Williams said. “It tells us our toughness, but it’s kind of who we are as a team. It doesn’t matter who we play. I just look at everybody like a faceless opponent. I feel like we just have to go out there each and every Sunday and put on the best brand of football that we know how to play. Beating a team like this is a huge confidence boost for us, but we knew we were going to come in here and beat them, so we got to continue to keep going like that.”
The Rams won’t have long to bask in the glow of the win because they face the 49ers on Thursday night and a stumble in that contest will mute most of the good feelings that they generated on Sunday.
