State Attorney Bain says he is holding off on assisting with Worrell’s transition into office

A local state attorney has sent a letter to his staff saying he will not assist Monique Worrell in the transition into the office, at least for now.

Andrew Bain said he accepts the election results, but that so much is still unclear.

Worrell won reelection after she was suspended by Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Bain told his staff that he will comply when the order from the governor is suspended but said he did not know when that will be, calling this an unprecedented legal event without clear answers.

Channel 9 has reached out to Bain and Worrell for comment and will provide updates on Eyewitness News.
