Brazil has significantly boosted its presence at the world’s largest luxury tourism fair, underscoring its commitment to expanding the luxury travel segment.

The country’s exhibition returns this year with double the number of co-exhibitors and a wider array of premium travel products and services, showcasing exclusive experiences across key destinations such as the Pantanal, Rio de Janeiro, Bahia, and São Paulo.

After resuming participation in 2023, Brazil’s presence at the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) is marked by an increased number of co-exhibitors—rising from 8 to 14 in 2024.

This includes seven tour operators, three destinations, and four hotel ventures, alongside the expertise of the Brazilian Tourist Board (Visit Brasil/Embratur).

The country’s luxury tourism sector continues to grow with a diverse network of tourism businesses committed to offering unique and sustainable travel experiences.

The partnership between Embratur and the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) plays a pivotal role in fostering entrepreneurship, particularly among small businesses, while strengthening ties with the Brazilian Luxury Travel Association (BLTA).

The BLTA, which represents Brazil’s top luxury hotels and curated travel experiences, is integral to showcasing Brazil as a premium destination in the global luxury market.

For 2025, Embratur and BLTA aim to increase participation in luxury tourism events, an industry that saw remarkable growth in 2023.

According to recent data, BLTA members reported a 14.05% increase in revenue, outpacing the global luxury market’s growth rate.

The global luxury travel market is valued at over €1.5 trillion, with high-end travel experiences being a key driver.

Embratur President Marcelo Freixo emphasized that luxury tourism is a cornerstone of Brazil’s promotional strategy.

“Brazil is positioning itself as a luxury destination offering not only stunning landscapes but also unparalleled service, sophistication, and cultural authenticity.

Our focus on sustainability and our diverse biomes, like the Pantanal and Atlantic Forest, set us apart as an ideal destination for discerning travelers.”

Sebrae President Décio Lima highlighted that tourism in Brazil is a significant economic driver, with 97.4% of tourism businesses being small enterprises.

“Entrepreneurship in tourism is vital for creating opportunities and jobs, while tourism’s creativity and culture enhance Brazil’s global appeal,” Lima noted.

Brazil’s luxury tourism offerings extend across its six biomes, which include tropical forests, savannas, and rich biodiversity.

The Pantanal, recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage site, plays a key role in attracting high-end visitors.

Rio de Janeiro, known for its iconic beaches and Cultural Urban Landscape, will be another highlight of Brazil’s showcase at ILTM, alongside paradisiacal destinations like Trancoso and Itacaré in Bahia, named by Condé Nast Traveler as top destinations for 2025.

Brazilian tourism revenue has seen substantial growth, with $6.005 billion in foreign tourist spending in the first ten months of 2024, marking a 5.9% increase over 2023.

The country is also strengthening its connections with Europe, which remains a key market.

In 2024, 1.2 million European tourists visited Brazil, a 20.7% increase compared to 2023, with countries like Portugal, France, Germany, and Italy leading the way.

As part of its continued efforts to expand international tourism, Brazil has been enhancing its connectivity.

New flight routes, such as direct connections from Paris to Salvador and Lisbon to Belém, are expected to further bolster tourism flows, especially as COP30 prepares to be hosted in Brazil in 2025.

Looking ahead, 2025 will mark the bicentennial of Brazil-France relations, with an exciting year-long celebration planned to foster business, tourism, and cultural exchange between the two nations.

Brazil’s expanding luxury tourism presence at ILTM is a testament to its growing global appeal, offering visitors exclusive and high-quality travel experiences that highlight the nation’s cultural, natural, and sustainable tourism potential.
