Brest consider using Stade de France for latter stages of the Champions League

Brest have made contact with the Stade de France, as they consider using the 80.000-seater as a temporary ground in the Champions League, according to a report from L’Equipe. Courtesy of their 1-0 win against Eredivisie champions PSV in Matchday 6 of Europe’s premier club competition, Brest have all but ensured their qualification for, at least, the playoff rounds of the Champions League.

With 13 points out of a possible 18, the Ligue 1 side are currently fifth in the Champions League standings and must therefore prepare to keep playing in the tournament well into 2025. The outlet understands that Brest would not be able to host knock-out Champions League games in their current temporary home – Guingamp’s Stade du Roudourou – without some extension and refurbishment works in the TV pen.

Rennes’ Roazhon Park is also being considered but L’Equipe understands that Brest’s decision to move to the Stade de France will depend on their opponent’s standing.
