Two basketball players are being recognized for their outstanding achievements on the field.

This week, an Enterprise and Shasta high school student-athlete are being highlighted. It’s time to meet the two Shasta Family YMCA Athletes of the Week for their accomplishments over the last few weeks.

Wes Ramirez

Sport: Basketball

School: Enterprise

Class: Senior

Team contributions: The Enterprise boys basketball team is off to a 3-1 start after participating in a tournament last week. Wes Ramirez returns this season, leading the way averaging 9.2 rebounds per game (5th in CIF Northern Section) and has one double-double (14th in CIF NS), according to stats reported to MaxPreps. The Hornets take on Mt. Shasta at 6 p.m. Tuesday followed by Dougherty Valley at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Bria Tate

Sport: Basketball

School: Shasta

Class: Senior

Team contributions: The Shasta girls basketball team has rolled into a perfect 3-0 start with convincing wins over Redding Christian, Anderson and Enterprise. Over the three games, Bria Tate has averaged 10.3 points per game (10th in CIF NS) for 31 points. The Wolves take on Fall River at 4 p.m. Thursday.
