Matthew Wright named AFC special teams player of the week

Date:

Matthew Wright’s game-winning field goal attempt went off the left upright but was still good, clinching the AFC West for the Chiefs.

Wright has now been named AFC special teams player of the week.

Filling in for the injured Harrison Butker, Wright hit all four of his field goal attempts on Sunday night, including the game-winning 31-yarder.

This is Wright’s second career special teams player of the week award, as he won it with the Jaguars in Week 6 of the 2021 season.

Wright and the Chiefs will be in Cleveland to play the Browns on Sunday.
