Sabre Corporation, a global leader in travel technology, and American Airlines have officially renewed their long-term partnership, which includes continued use of the SabreSonic® Passenger Service System (PSS).

This renewal marks the next chapter in their ongoing collaboration, with both companies aiming to innovate and elevate the travel experience. Together, they will explore new possibilities in travel technology, driving advancements that will shape the future of passenger journeys.

“At American, our customers are at the center of each decision we make,” said Scott Laurence, Senior Vice President of Partnerships and Retailing at American Airlines. “American is focused on leveraging solutions, like SabreSonic, that meet the needs of our customers and our team, and we’re pleased to extend our partnership with Sabre.”

Over the last ten years, Sabre and American Airlines have forged a transformative partnership that has played a pivotal role in the evolution of the SabreSonic PSS. This collaboration has driven key innovations that not only benefit the airline industry but also enhance the overall travel experience. Notable advancements include smarter seat re-accommodation, improved inventory management features, and more sophisticated cabin functionality and rule settings.

“American is a leader in the global airline space, and we are proud our solutions continue to meet and exceed its needs and expectations in the ever-evolving travel industry,” said Roshan Mendis, Chief Commercial Officer, Sabre Travel Solutions. “American is one of our most valued customers. We look forward to this ongoing partnership and we are committed to supporting American’s commercial and technology strategies and efforts to put customers’ needs front and center.”

Along with renewing the SabreSonic agreement, American Airlines has also expanded its subscription to Sabre PRISM, a solution for managing corporate travel contracts. These updates come on the heels of the previous year’s announcement that American’s NDC offers would be accessible through Sabre’s Global Distribution System (GDS).

Additionally, Sabre and American reached a resolution last week regarding a legal dispute stemming from a 2011 lawsuit filed by US Airways.
