WATERTOWN — Watertown High School senior tennis standout Ellie Zink has signed to play collegiately at the University of Sioux Falls.
Zink, the daughter of WHS tennis coach Ryan and Erika Zink, was a six-year varsity performer for the Arrows.
She broke into the lineup at No. 3 doubles as seventh-grader in 2019. Zink played No. 1 singles for Watertown in 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024 and No. 2 singles in 2022. She also played No. 1 doubles each of her final five years.

This past fall, Zink helped lead the Arrows to a fourth-place finish in the state Class AA tournament by placing fourth at No. 1 singles and third at No. 1 doubles with Leyla Meester. She also finished fifth at No. 1 singles in 2023 and fourth at No. 2 singles in 2022.
Watertown finished fourth twice, fifth twice and sixth twice in state AA tourneys during her career.
Zink played on Watertown’s Eastern South Dakota Conference championship team in 2022, taking fourth at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles. She took second in both No. 1 singles and doubles in 2024 and third at No. 1 singles and second at No. 1 doubles in 2023.
Ryan Zink has been with the Arrow girls and boys tennis program since he started volunteering as an assistant coach in 2005. He took over as head coach of both Watertown teams during the 2018-19 season.
