Doctors have cleared Chiefs wide receiver Hollywood Brown to return to football activities, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports.
That clears the way for Brown to practice and play before the end of the regular season. Brown is expected to have his 21-day practice window opened either Friday or Monday, per Rapoport.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that Brown was “getting close” to a return.
Brown injured his sternoclavicular joint on his first play of the preseason, requiring surgery and a long rehab.
The Chiefs had targeted Week 16 or Week 17 for Brown’s return.
Brown will join DeAndre Hopkins, Xavier Worthy and JuJu Smith-Schuster in the wide receivers room to give Patrick Mahomes plenty of weapons in the postseason.
