According to Sky Italy, Napoli and Fiorentina are interested in signing Lyon midfielder Nemanja Matić (36) in the January transfer window. The Serbian international midfielder is no stranger to the Serie A or Italy after playing for Roma between 2022 and 2023.
Matić has become a regular fixture at OL since he joined the club from Rennes in the January transfer window. The 36-year-old has impressed with his performances at the base of midfield. However, the former Chelsea player’s contract at the Groupama Stadium is set to expire in June 2025 and this could make him a prime transfer target for other clubs.
Conte reunion?
Napoli manager Antonio Conte is rather familiar with the OL defensive midfielder after managing him during his time in charge of Chelsea. Their former relationship is one of the influences behind the Naples outfit’s interest. Despite the interest in his services, Matić is thought to be happy in Lyon and has a positive relationship with Pierre Sage.
