Brian Thomas puts Jaguars up 7-0

Date:

It took a while, but the Jaguars have their first opening drive touchdown of the 2024 season.

Quarterback Mac Jones hit wide receiver Brian Thomas for a three-yard score to cap a 13-play, 70-yard opening drive and the Jaguars are up 7-0 on the Jets.

Thomas had three other catches on the drive and now has the franchise record for receiving yards by a rookie. Jones was 6-of-8 for 33 yards overall.

It looked like the Jets would get off the field with a field goal attempt when Will McDonald sacked Jones on third down, but cornerback Sauce Gardner was called for holding in the end zone.
