The New York Giants got down to their last active quarterback on Sunday.

Third-string quarterback Tim Boyle came out of the locker room to start the second half of Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. He replaced Tommy DeVito, who suffered a concussion in the first half against Baltimore and was ruled out at halftime.

DeVito appeared to suffer the head injury on a third-and-10 sack late in the second quarter by Ravens linebacker Odafe Oweh. DeVito remained in the game for the next Giants play that resulted in a touchdown run by Devin Singletary, but he did not play another snap.

Boyle knelt out the clock on New York’s final play of the first half then remained with the offense for the start of the third quarter. DeVito was ruled out with a concussion.

Drew Lock is the No. 1 quarterback on New York’s depth chart after the Giants released longtime starter Daniel Jones midseason. He did not start on Sunday after being ruled out with a heel injury.

DeVito was making his third start of the season and completed 10 of 13 passes without a touchdown or turnover before leaving the game. Boyle, a sixth-year veteran backup, made two previous relief appearances this season for the Giants.

DeVito’s injury adds to the woes of a lost season in New York. The Giants entered Sunday’s game with a 2-11 record, tied for the worst in the NFL. Their long-term answer at quarterback is up in the air after they released Jones, a former first-round pick whom the Giants selected in the first round of the 2019 draft.
