Florida basketball moved up one spot to No. 6 in this week’s USA Today men’s college basketball coaches poll.

The Florida Gators (10-0) remained unbeaten after downing Arizona State 83-66 at the Holiday Hoopsgiving in Atlanta over the weekend. Florida jumped to 41-32 halftime lead and extended its lead by as many as 29 points in the second half.

Walter Clayton Jr. led three UF scorers in double figures with 25 points.

“It’s definitely taken a big step forward from last year, Clayton said. “Last year was a great offensive team, bad defensive team, so this year I feel like we’re still a great offensive team – even better offensive team this year actually because we’re turning so many defensive stops into transition buckets.”

At 10-0, Florida is off to its best start since going 17-0 in 2005-06, the year UF won the first of its back-to-back national titles. Florida has won all 10 of its games in double figures by an average margin of 21.1 points per game.

Florida next plays Tuesday night against North Carolina at the Jumpman Classic in Charlotte, N.C. (7 p.m., ESPN).
