Opening Tip

  • Temple and Davidson meet for just the fourth time in history when they tangle at Liacouras Center on Sunday.
  • The Owls have won two straight while the Wildcats have won three in a row – all coming at Belk Arena on Davidson’s campus.
  • Temple men’s basketball returns home after an impressive road win at Hofstra on Sunday, in search of the program’s 2,000th all-time win.
  • Only Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, Duke and UCLA have reached the mark in NCAA Division I history, with Syracuse trailing the Owls by one win (1,998) heading into Wednesday’s action.

Tenacious D

  • The Owls held Hofstra to just 25.0 percent shooting from the floor in a 60-42 win on Dec. 15.
  • That is the lowest percentage a team has shot against Temple since they held La Salle to the same percentage on Dec. 1, 2021.
  • The point total was the lowest a Temple team had allowed in a game since allowing the same number in a neutral site victory over Texas A&M in November of 2019.

Baba Battles on the Boards

  • Freshman Babatunde Durodola has made a start in all 10 of Temple’s games this season, and made his presence known on the glass at Hofstra on Dec. 15.
  • The 6-8 forward pulled down a team-best 10 boards as the Owls outdueled the Pride on the glass, 54-39.
  • Durodola was two rebounds shy of his season high of 12, set against UMass.

Familiar Name Back in Cherry & White

  • Senior Lynn Greer III missed the first nine games of the season but returned for his first game as a Temple Owl on Dec. 15 at Hofstra.
  • Playing for the same program that his father did, Greer III made an immediate impact, registering nine points and five rebounds in 17 minutes of action.
  • The elder Greer averaged 23.2 points per game as a senior and scored 2,099 points over his five-year career to rank  second in Temple history.

Scouting Davidson

  • The Wildcats enter the contest with an impressive 8-2 mark, having defeated its last three opponents at home over the last two weeks.
  • Included in that stretch was a 75-71 victory over AAC member Charlotte.
  • Earlier this season, Davidson also posted a neutral-site win over Providence.
  • A trio of players are averaging 14 points or more, led by Reed Bailey’s 18.2 points per game.
  • Connor Kochera, a former CAA Rookie of the Year with William & Mary, is at 16.3 points per contest while Bobby Durkin, the team’s top three-point threat, is averaging 14.6 ppg.
