Vietnam ranked 36th in a list of the 89 most beautiful countries in the world, according to the annual ranking by U.S. News & World Report.
The rankings were based on a global survey of over 17,000 respondents, who evaluated countries across 10 main criteria: adventure, flexibility, cultural influence, entrepreneurial spirit, heritage, openness to business, quality of life, social purpose, and national capacity.
Vietnam earned high marks for its delicious cuisine, stunning natural landscapes, captivating cultural attractions, rich history, friendliness, and unique charm.
Greece topped the list as the most beautiful country in the world this year, followed by New Zealand and Italy.
As of November, Vietnam had welcomed nearly 16 million foreign tourists and is on track to achieve its 18-million visitor target for the year.
