Bruno Guimaraes was in awe as he watched his Newcastle teammate Sandro Tonali score his first-ever brace at St James’ Park against Brentford in the EFL Cup.
The Italy international netted two quality goals in the first half to book his side a place into the semi-finals.

Guimaraes, also a midfielder, played the full 90 minutes alongside the 24-year-old and expressed all his admiration for his performance by posting an Instagram story accompanied by a brief caption: ‘What a player’.
The former Milan player scored Newcastle’s opener with a shot from outside the box in the opening stages before volleying Anthony Gordon’s corner kick home after 43 minutes to double their lead.
