Christian Barmore returns to non-football illness list with recurring symptoms from blood clots

Date:

Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore played four games this season after returning from blood clots in July. His season now is finished, the Patriots announced in a statement.

“The New England Patriots are placing defensive lineman Christian Barmore on the reserve non-football illness list after he experienced some recurring symptoms that required further evaluation,” the team wrote. “We appreciate everything Christian did to return to the team this season, but our top priority is Christian’s health and wellbeing. We know that he will continue to receive tremendous care and we want to ensure that he gets the time he needs to come back stronger than ever.”

The Patriots activated Barmore from the non-football illness list Nov. 16.

He missed the first 10 games of the season and totaled six tackles and a sack in the four games he played. Barmore had his best season in 2023 when he recorded 8.5 sacks, 64 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 16 quarterback hits.
