BYU Basketball Adds Khadim Mboup as Mid-Year Enrollee

Date:

BYU has added another piece to the 2024-2025 roster as Khadim Mboup has officially joined the roster as a mid-year enrollee.

The 6-foot-9 Senegal native committed to BYU in July, but was enrolled at Utah Prep to start this school year to finish up some academic requirements before enrolling at BYU. I expect that he will redshirt this year.

Mboup is an uber-athletic forward that can play both the 3 and 4. He excels in transition as someone that can get downhill to the basket and also has range out the three point line. Mboup’s rebounding ability also allows him to play the four.

Mboup prepped at NBA Academy in Africa; BYU assistant Will Voigt spearheaded this recruitment due to his prior connections with Mboup after coaching him in the Basketball Africa League (BAL).

Mboup was originally a member of the 2025 class and enrolled to 2024; He turned 18 in September. He’ll have a chance to participate in BYU practices for the rest of the season, which should aid in his development and give him a chance to contribute to the team next season. One coach that has worked with Khadim told me that he is “long athletic wing with big upside” and that he could take some time to develop but that “he has a shot” to be great.”

You can watch highlights of Khadim below.
