Multi-hyphenate Billy Porter put on a pair of sparkly shoes Saturday night. The performer attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C., wearing crystal-embellished Christian Louboutin boots.
Porter is often spotted in a platform heel. Christian Louboutin, Rick Owens and Syro are some of his preferred footwear brands. At the Time 100 event this week, he opted for platform Chelsea boots. Prior to that, earlier this month he wore a pair of platform boots from Gucci to the Williams Institute’s 2024 Legacy Gala honoring Chuck Williams.
The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is an annual dinner event that celebrates the importance of the First Amendment. It takes place in Washington, D.C. and often includes noted names in media, entertainment and politics. This year’s dinner included President Joe Biden, first lady Jill Biden, Fran Drescher, Colin Jost, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Gayle King, and more.
About the shoe
The base of Porter’s shoe was a white leather platform boot. The shoe sports a sizable, square-shaped platform as well as a chunky heel. The sole of the heel is red, revealing the style to be from Christian Louboutin.
Porter has worn a similar shoe in black, without the crystal embellishment. Back in June 2023, when the actor was at the premiere for his film “Our Son,” he wore a pair of black iridescent boots from Louboutin that appear similar in silhouette to the ones he wore tonight.
