Syracuse remains unable to build a winning streak, after losing 75-71 to the Georgetown Hoyas last week. With the loss, Syracuse fell to 5-5 and remains 0-1 in the ACC. The Orange seem unable to close out games against power conference teams.
Eddie Lampkin Jr. had a team-high 18 points, and Jaquan Carlos drained a 3-pointer with 4:12 left that put the Orange ahead, 69-67, but the Hoyas answered by scoring eight of the last 10 points of the contest to secure the win.
Now Syracuse clashes with Maryland, who will be a challenging opponent. At 9-2 overall, the Terrapins are 5th in the Big Ten, and the Orange will look for more standout play from Carlos, Lampkin Jr. and Freshman Elijah Moore.
