Mechanic and auto expert Chris Pyle from JustAnswer shares his favorite 2025 car brands based on years of hands-on experience.

Ford: The Trusted Workhorse

Pyle recommended two Ford models, in particular.

“Ford Super Duty or F150. They are the best-selling trucks for a reason,” he explained. “They get the job done, but that is assuming you need a get-‘er-done truck to tow a boat or RV.”

The resale value is another major selling point. As Pyle noted, “When it comes time to move on, you have no problem finding a buyer for your used truck.”

Hyundai and Kia: The Value Champions

Looking for maximum value? Pyle has an unexpected recommendation: “Anything Hyundai or Kia. You will be surprised by the low ownership cost.”

These brands offer compelling packages right off the lot.

“They are normally cheaper to buy, have great warranties, [and] you get all the needed accessories,” he pointed out.

However, there is one caveat.

“A downfall though is resale value, so plan to drive it beyond 200,000 or until the wheels fall off,” Pyle noted.

Tesla: The Electric Option

For those considering the switch to electric, Pyle has clear guidance about Tesla: It’s a solid choice “assuming you want to go electric and plan to drive mainly locally so you do not have to deal with route planning based on charging.”

The benefits? As Pyle noted, “Tesla cars are loaded with the best things you can get in a car and are proven to be good cars.”

Final Take To GO

Bottom line? Whether you need a capable truck, a value-packed daily driver or a tech-forward electric vehicle, Pyle’s professional insights cut through the marketing hype to focus on what really matters: reliability, value and real-world usability.
