Justin Danforth Placed On IR; James Malatesta Assigned To Cleveland

Date:

The Blue Jackets have placed Justin Danforth on Injured Reserve.

Danforth was apparently injured against the Philadelphia Flyers on December 10th. In that game, he played 9:38 and had two blocks.

There is no indication of when he will be back.

The team has also removed James Malatesta from the roster. As of this writing, there is no word as to why, but Cleveland is the only place he could be assigned. Neither Columbus nor Cleveland has announced any roster moves.

The Cleveland Monsters are playing Rochester Americans today, and Denton Mateychuk is missing from the game.

Defenseman Zach Werenski suffered an injury last night against Philly. He came back into the game but was obviously hobbled. Could this be the reason Mateychuk is missing?

THN Columbus will keep you updated.

What’s Next – The Blue Jackets welcome the Montreal Canadiens into Nationwide Arena on Monday night.
