A nostalgic reunion took place at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) ground, where cricketers from the 1970s and 80s gathered to relive old memories and share experiences.

Players shared stories of their time on the team, highlighting challenges, triumphs, and camaraderie. The group reminisced about their coaches, mentors, and teammates. Their discussions were centred on the evolution of cricket at the university and its impact on their lives.

Dr Balbir Singh, Dr Manjit Singh Mahal (former international cricket umpire), Parminder, Devinder Cheema, Sunil Sharma, Narinder Walia, Naveen Sharma, Tejinder Bains, and Harpal Singh were among those present on the ground, while Satyawan Rampal and Manmohan Kalia joined their teammates online.

“This reunion brought back memories of our carefree days, playing cricket with passion and dedication,” said former PAU player Sunil Sharma.

“We’re grateful for the opportunities that the PAU gave us, shaping us into the individuals we are today,” said Dr Mahal.

The PAU cricketers’ reunion served as a testament to the power of sports in fostering lifelong connections and memories, said another former cricketer.
