George Pickens: I feel good, but coaches and doctors will make the call

Date:

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said on Sunday that wide receiver George Pickens has a “real chance” of returning to the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Chiefs, but Pickens didn’t offer much in the way of a guess about how things will go when he spoke to reporters on Monday.

Pickens said he has not been cleared to return from the hamstring injury that kept him out of the last three games and hopes he’ll get the green light to play on Christmas.

“I feel good, but who makes the decision is the coaches and the doctors,” Pickens said, via Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com. “So just whatever they tell me to do I’m doing. Whenever you guys find out is when I’ll find out.”

The Steelers have lost their last two games and another loss to the Chiefs coupled with the Ravens beating the Texans in their Christmas game would mean that Pittsburgh is out of first place in the AFC North. Having Pickens would be a good way to keep that from happening, but the answer to that question will remain out of reach for a little while longer.
