India vs West Indies Women Cricket Highlights, 2nd ODI: India sealed the three-game ODI series with a massive 115-run win over West Indies in the second match. Opting to bat, India produced a solid batting show with Harleen Deol (115) hitting a century and Smriti Mandhana (53), Pratika Rawal (76) and Jemimah Rodrigues (52) scoring fifties to take India to 358 for five. In reply, WI folded for 243 in 46.2 overs with Hayley Matthews making a 109-ball 106 at the top. Priya Mishra snapped three wickets, while Deepti Sharma (2/40), Titas Sadhu (2/42) and Rawal (2/37) accounted for two wickets each.

India began their three-match ODI series against West Indies with a massive win. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side cruised to 211-run win with Renuka Thakur taking a five-wicket haul while opener Smriti Mandhana hitting 91.

Batting first, India racked up 314/9 in their 50 overs. Mandhana was India’s top-scorer of the contest while Harleen Deol (44) and Pratika Rawal (40) also made decent contributions.

West Indies suffered a batting collapse to bowled out for 103 in 26.2 overs. Their horror-show with the bat began form the first ball itself when they lost opener Qiana Joseph to a run out. Afy Fletcher’s unbeaten 24 was the highest individual score of their innings.

She shares that having ample time at the crease allowed her to focus on playing more shots, which was her primary goal. The skipper of India Women, Harmanpreet Kaur says they were expecting such a solid batting display and it all went well for the side. Mentions that the wicket was playing really well second inning as well and the way Hayley batted was superb. Reckons that the way Harleen batted was superb and the entire batting unit did extremely well. She further talks about having the trust on the bowlers even during a partnership that they can turn things around and gets the big wicket anytime to bring the team back in the game.

Hayley Matthews, the captain of the West Indies Women comes up for a chat  and begins with saying that they never wanted to chase such a massive total after being a game down, going in to chase. Adds that the India women’s team has really talented players in their side and they have to up their game and come back stronger in the next one. Further mentions that this series is important for them in terms of getting those two crucial points that will put them in contention for the championship. Adds that they will want to rest till Christmas and get back up and running. Talking about her batting, she said that it was good to spend some time at the crease and it helped her and the team in understanding the bowlers alot better in the next game, she concluded.
