Inter Milan President Outlines Oaktree Guidelines: “Quality, Professionalism & Heritage”

Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta has outlined the guidelines set by Nerazzurri owners Oaktree Capital Management.

During a comprehensive interview with Sky Sport via FCInterNews, Marotta praised the club’s noticeable rise in 2024.

“It was Inter’s year, with my contribution as part of the operational framework,” he said.

“It’s a fusion of situations – I’ve received so much from Inter and offered my experience to help achieve certain goals.

“The club has returned to being one of the most authoritative forces.

“Inter’s history and trophy cabinet highlights its rightful place among Europe’s elite.

“With our new ownership, we are continuing on a path of consistency and growth.”

Simone Inzaghi won his maiden Serie A title as manager last term, inspiring Inter to a landmark 20th Scudetto.

Marotta discussed the 48-year-old’s humility and commendable work ethic.

“Inzaghi arrived humbly, without grand proclamations, and has grown steadily alongside the team’s results,” he added.

“He’s instilled a culture of work, passion, and a sense of belonging, creating a strong synergy with the management.

“Success isn’t about having 11 talents alone; you need a mix of youth and experience.

“Our squad reflects this balance, with dynamic younger players and seasoned veterans like Acerbi, whose presence extends beyond the pitch into the dressing room.”

Inter Milan President Explains What Oaktree Expects from All Employers

Oaktree’s arrival has significantly changed Inter for the better.

Since taking over from Steven Zhang, the American conglomerate has turned the Nerazzurri into a force to be reckoned with.

“I must thank the ownership for their trust, especially after naming me president of such an extraordinary club,” Marotta stated.

“It’s an added responsibility and a highlight of my career. My dedication and commitment have only grown.

“Oaktree has been discreet but instrumental, focused on ensuring economic and financial sustainability through agreed-upon guidelines.

“I’m not the most powerful figure, but my experience helps me navigate the complexities of this sector.

“Italian football must combat divisiveness and focus on structural improvements to remain competitive globally.

“For instance, the Decreto Crescita has been pivotal in our European success but needs recalibration to support young Italian talent.

“While being FIGC President or Sports Minister is flattering to consider, I’m content in my current role as Inter’s president.

“My focus is on enhancing the club and advocating for broader access to sports for children in Italy.”

Marotta admitted he hopes to stay at Inter for as long as possible.

“I’m happy at Inter and aim to continue contributing to its success.

“My approach has always been to learn from those who came before me and, in turn, pass on those lessons to the next generation.

“Passion and the thrill of the game remain my driving forces.”
