Official: Milan sack Paulo Fonseca following last night’s 1-1 draw against Roma

Earlier this morning, Milan announced the dismissal of manager Paulo Fonseca after just six months, following a series of inconsistent performances that have left the team in eighth place in Serie A.

The decision comes just hours after the Rossoneri drew 1-1 against Roma, one of Fonseca’s former sides—marking only two victories in Milan’s last seven league matches.

The club wrote on their official website, “AC Milan announces that Paulo Fonseca has been relieved from his duties as Head Coach of the Men’s First Team. The Club extends its gratitude to Paulo for his great professionalism and wishes him the very best in his future endeavours.”

In his place, Sky Sport and Fabrizio Romano report that former Porto manager Sérgio Conceição will succeed Fonseca and already agreed to contractual terms with the Rossoneri.
