Police ID two people killed in Clinton Highway crash the day after Christmas in Knoxville

Date:

Charges are pending for the driver of an SUV police say crossed into oncoming Clinton Highway traffic Dec. 26 and crashed into another vehicle, killing two people whose names have since been released by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Tennessee residents Carly Williams, 33, and Jeffery Wilkerson, 34, died in the early morning hours of Dec. 26 after the 2020 Dodge Challenger that Williams was driving collided with a 2010 GMC Yukon.

A preliminary THP report says Brent Morgan, 45, also of Tennessee, was driving the GMC Yukon northbound near the 7700 block of Clinton Highway just before 1 a.m. when it crossed into the southbound lane and crashed into the Dodge Challenger. Williams and Wilkerson were the only occupants of the car, according to the report.

Morgan and his passenger were hurt in the crash, according to the report, but no additional information about their injury status was shared. Charges for Morgan are “pending” the result of an investigation, the report says.
