Help my two children get KDF jobs, Yesu wa Tongaren’s wife appeals to Ruto

Date:

Yesu wa Tongareni’s wife Nabii Benjamin has several appeals to President William Ruto and First Lady Mama Rachel ahead of Madaraka Day celebrations.

The President is set to preside over Madaraka Day celebrations at Masinde Muliro Stadium in Kanduyi constituency, Bungoma County.

Bungoma-based preacher Eliud Wekesa, popularly known as Yesu wa Tongaren and his wife came to the limelight in 2023 when he was summoned by police.

While speaking on Friday, Yesu wa Tongareni’s wife said that she is happy the President is visiting her home county.

She requested the President to help her two children acquire employment after they finished school.

Yesu wa Tongareni’s wife said that when her children secure employment they will help uplift the family.

“I was happy when I heard that President Ruto and First Lady Mama Rachel will be visiting us in Bungoma. I would like to request them to help my two children who finished school but have not yet secured employment.

It will make me happy when they join the Kenya Defence Forces because they would love to join. I plead that you help me because it will help raise the status of our family.”

She further requested the President and Mama Rachel will be her only hope for the future of their children.

Yesu wa Tongareni’s wife said that they live in darkness and find it difficult to communicate due to the lack of power in their area.

“We welcome them and request that they help us with that. I ask them to help us rebuild the road that leads to the home of Yesu wa Tongaren. When you come to visit us, you will find yourself just dancing in the car due to bad roads,” she said.

“You are forced to dance because of the poor roads, but if they rebuild the roads, you will not have to force it.”

Ruto on Friday urged Chwele residents to come out early and in large numbers on Saturday to attend the 61st Madaraka Day celebrations.

“I want to go and launch roads and sort passport issues early we meet tomorrow so that I don’t get late. Come early tomorrow, what time will you arrive at the stadium? at 10 am? By that time you will be late,” the President said.

The residents jokingly asked the President for transport to the venue to keep time.

“You want me to carry the celebrations from Nyayo Stadium to Kanduyi and still give you transport?” The President answered amidst laughter.

The President further asked Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga to organise the residents to attend the Madaraka fete.

Ruto arrived in Bungoma county on Thursday for a three-day visit that will also see him preside over this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations.

He is expected to launch several development projects during his tour in the county.

Bungoma, which will host this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations, has seen several infrastructural upgrades.

One area that has seen huge investment is the roads sector which also saw Matulo Airstrip get a new runway.
