Truck catches fire after driver plows through GA home

A driver is hospitalized after crashing through a Georgia home Friday morning.

Just before 4 a.m. on Jan. 3, Taliaferro County deputies and firefighters were called to a vehicle accident on Sparta Road.

When first responders arrived, officials learned a pickup traveling along Highway 22 left the roadway and crashed into a home.

The home was unoccupied, according to the sheriff’s office.

The South Carolina driver was injured and removed from the truck, due to the vehicle catching fire.

The driver, whose age and identity were not released was taken to the hospital. Taliaferro County and Greene County Fire Departments extinguished the fire.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
