Prime Minister Christopher Luxon is attending NATO in Washington DC this week, including meeting with leaders from other members of IP4 or Indo-Pacific 4.
The grouping refers to NATO’s engagement with Australia, Japan, South Korea, and New Zealand.
On Wednesday, Luxon attended the NATO 75th anniversary dinner, where he got introductions with 13 different leaders, and was later hosted by US President Joe Biden at the White House.
“I had the pleasure of talking with the President who expressed his love for New Zealand.”
He also spoke with new UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, and Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni.
