Democrat mayor of Washington city makes stunning claims about Trump assassination attempt

Date:

A Democrat mayor has sparked outrage online – and among his own constituents – claiming Donald Trump faked the assassination attempt at a rally Saturday that left a bystander dead.

The mayor of Washington’s Aberdeen, Douglas Orr, went so far as to claim the former president, who is currently running for a second chance at the White House, may have been inspired by tactics used at pro wrestling matches.

Orr posited that Trump may have cut his ear as part of the stunt, and is asking that independent doctors review his injury.

The apparently spelling-challenged mayor put the outlandish conspiracy theory in a Facebook post riddled with errors where he decried that it’s ‘sick how polatics [sic] have devolved.’

The Democrat claimed: ‘Ears bleed alot [sic]. I hope they check to make sure it wasn’t just a self inflicted scratch. The shooter is dead so we will never know if it was staged.’

Orr added: ‘Not buying it quite yet Any way [sic] you look at it, it was a horrific act. Short of Biden dieing [sic], this is about the only thing that could happen that would artificially gain Trump sympathy votes. I hope I’m wrong, but because of his record of deceit, that’s the first thing that came to mind.’

Aberdeen’s mayor Douglas Orr said he is standing by his belief that Trump may have cut himself, and is asking that independent doctors review his injury

The mayor deleted the message, saying he thought people’s replies to it ‘were getting out of line.’

In an appearance with The Jason Rantz Show on KTTH, Orr stood by his theory, saying: ‘I respectfully have the right to say what was my gut feeling. I don’t believe that people have the right to intimidate me or disrespect me for my respectful comment.’

Orr, who works as an artist, went on to explain that he was questioning the assassination attempt because ‘he spent his life growing up watching World Wrestling.’

He said: ‘Half the world thinks that they’re really wrestlers and, sure, they’re athletic and all that. But they get paid money for cutting themselves on the forehead or the ear or the top of the head. Areas that bleed a lot and with very little damage.’

While admitting that he has no proof of his claims, Orr said his gut is telling him it was staged because Trump is a 'television actor'

A petition was started following Orr’s comments about Trump to remove him from office.

The petition party reads: ‘The disregard shown by Mayor Douglas Orr toward our community is deeply personal.

‘he uses social media and email platforms to belittle and abuse citizens as well as fellow council members, a clear breach of professional conduct.’

In the wake of the shooting that killed one spectator on Saturday, investigators were hunting for any clues about what may have drove Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, to carry out the shocking attack.

The FBI said they were investigating it as a potential act of domestic terrorism , but the absence of a clear ideological motive by the man shot dead by the Secret Service led conspiracy theories to flourish.

The FBI said it believes Crooks, who had bomb-making materials in the car he drove to the rally, acted alone.

Investigators have found no threatening comments on social media accounts or ideological positions that could help explain what led him to target Trump before the Secret Service rushed the presumptive Republican presidential nominee off the stage, his face smeared with blood.

Trump said on social media the upper part of his right ear was pierced in the shooting, but advisers said he was ‘great spirits’ ahead of his arrival Sunday in Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention.

Two spectators were critically injured, while a former fire chief from the area, Corey Comperatore was killed. Pennsylvania’s governor said Comperatore, 50, died a hero by diving onto his family to protect them.
