CWA Members Travel to Washington, DC to Call Attention to Income Inequality and Launch Massive Voter Outreach

Date:

On June 29th busloads of CWA Local 1180 members made the trek from NYC to Washington, DC to join CWAers from Alabama, North Carolina, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, and beyond for the historic “Mass Poor People’s & Low-Wage Workers’ Assembly and Moral March on Washington D.C. & to the Polls.”

The Poor People’s Campaign aims to foster a “revolution of values,” uniting poor communities across the country to fight for policies that will build power for the underserved, and for elected officials who will stand with low-income people.

The June 29th event was the kickoff of the campaign’s electoral work in a huge election year, with outreach to 15 million poor and low-wage infrequent voters ahead of the November elections.
