South Kortright, Gilboa win Delaware League golf matches

Aug. 28—The South Kortright golf team improved to 2-0 Wednesday with a 196-211 victory over Hunter-Tannersville at the College Golf Course at Delhi.

Lance McClure led the Rams with a 45, Cole Thomas and Ellis LiCalzi each shot 50 and J.B. Trimbell added a 51.

Gideon Glennon had the low round of the day for H-T with a 42 while Teagan Mahoney posted a 45.

South Kortright will face Charlotte Valley on Thursday at Ouleout Creek.

Gilboa-Conesville 173, Jefferson/Stamford 194

Four excellent rounds helped Gilboa-Conesville defeat Jefferson/Stamford 173-194 in Wednesday’s Delaware League match at Christman’s Golf Course.

David Cammer led the way with a round of 42 while Shane O’Hara shot 43 and Garrison Ross and Cody Ciaravino each had a 44.

Jon Michael Leas led J/S with a 43 while Gavin VanEtten followed close behind with a 44.

Margaretville 214, Windham-Ashland-Jewett 214

Margaretville and Windham-Ashland-Jewett opened their 2024 seasons with a 214-214 tie in Wednesday’s match at Hanah Mountain.

James Garrison of WAJ had the low round of the day with a 44 while teammate Slade Tyrian posted a 50.

Ryan Sanford led the Blue Devils with a 46 while C.J. Fairbairn and Connor Wayman carded matching rounds of 55.

Jefferson/Stamford defeated Roxbury 210-223 in Tuesday’s season-opening match at Stamford Golf Club.

Jon Michael Leas and Gavin VanEtten led J/S with rounds of 42 and 44, respectively. Izzy Hynes added a 53.

Leading Roxbury were Liam Bullock with a round of 48 and Blake Albano with a 51.
