HS GIRLS TENNIS: Holy Cross, Valley View post Lackawanna League wins

Hannah Pisarcik, Sadie Pappas and Molly Urban swept the singles matches to lead the Holy Cross to a 5-0 win over Western Wayne on Tuesday in a Lackawanna League girls tennis match.

Holy Cross also won the doubles matches with the teams of Claire Polishan-Alessandra Lynn and Emma Woody-Anna Polishan posting wins in straight sets.

At Valley View, Ella Swingle, Sarah Sweeney and Emily Evans had straight-sets wins as the Cougars stayed unbeaten in league play with a 5-0 win over Dunmore.

Singles: Hannah Pisarcik (HC) over Cassidy Zeiler, 6-0, 6-2; Sadie Pappas (HC) over Bella Kolp, 6-0, 6-1; Molly Urban (HC) over Emma Spewack, 6-0, 6-0.

Doubles: Claire Polishan-Alessandra Lynn (HC) over Mady McClure-Alecia Wertman, 6-1, 6-0; Emma Woody-Anna Polishan (HC) over Madison Fiorgione-Kaylee Fischer, 6-1, 6-0.

Records: HC 2-2, WW 0-3.

Valley View 5, Dunmore 0

Singles: Ella Swingle (VV) over Krithika Krishnan, 6-1, 6-0; Sarah Sweeney (VV) over Ava Ferraro, 6-0, 6-1; Emily Evans (VV) over Maggie Jimmie, 6-0, 6-1.

Doubles: Emily Wood-Emily Moyles (VV) over Meredith Baker-Sascha Novak, 6-0, 6-0; Claire Lombardi-Riley Harrington (VV) over Danielle DePietro-Katherine Fagioli, 6-2, 6-0.
