Victor Osimhen set to remain at Napoli as Chelsea move fails to materialise

Date:

According to a report by Fabrice Hawkins, with only an hour remaining before the transfer window shuts Victor Osimhen (25) is set to remain at Napoli and will not move to Chelsea FC.

The Nigeria international has been a target for Chelsea and Saudi Arabia throughout the window, however, an agreement between all relevant parties has proven difficult to reach.

As reported by Hawkins earlier on deadline day, Al-Ahli have reached an agreement with Napoli regarding the striker’s transfer. However, Chelsea had not given up hope of landing their man, with a delegation travelling to Italy on Thursday evening in order to wrap up a deal.

However, it appears as if Osimhen will not be leaving the Italian club. The negotiations had gone down to the wire but it looks as if there will be no breakthrough for either the London or Saudi Arabian club leaving the striker in the lurch with Napoli already bringing in Romelu Lukaku (31) as his replacement.
