Mark Cuban Calls Politics A F****D Up Partisan Mess. Here’s How He Thinks Entrepreneurship Can Help Fix What’s Wrong With Society

Mark Cuban isn’t shy about sharing his thoughts, and when it comes to politics, he doesn’t hold back. At a recent event, Cuban called politics a “f****d up partisan mess,” expressing frustration with the current state of things. But instead of just complaining, Cuban believes there’s a solution: entrepreneurship.

Don’t Miss:

Cuban sees the divisiveness in politics as a major problem. He argues that the focus on party lines and political battles distracts from what really matters — making people’s lives better.

“When we were growing up, there were three networks. Then there were 57 channels, and then 500 channels and nothing on. Now there’s unlimited channels, and everybody has a voice for better or worse,” says Cuban.

He thinks that’s why entrepreneurship is so important. As an entrepreneur, you can’t get caught up in all that. You have to do what’s best for your customers, no matter what they look like.

When people start their own businesses, they create jobs and boost the economy but also bring novel solutions to the table. As he puts it, “That’s what makes this country so different from every other country. We all have that little bit of entrepreneurship inside of us.”

Entrepreneurs aren’t bogged down by political debates; they’re focused on solving real-world problems, and Cuban thinks that’s exactly what the country needs more of.

Cuban says businesses should reflect the diversity of their customers. He believes companies should mirror the communities they serve, which is not only smart for business but also helps bring people together. By being inclusive and understanding what their customers need, businesses can do more to unite people than politicians often manage to do.

Even though Cuban is frustrated with politics, he hasn’t completely stayed out of it. He’s recently expressed strong support for Kamala Harris, believing she has the leadership needed to create a better environment for small businesses and innovation. He defends her and her presumed policies on social media and often gets into quarrels with Elon Musk and others about DEI.

Cuban’s colleague from Shark Tank, Kevin O’Leary has similarly denied any interest in partisan politics, emphasizing his focus on small business advocacy. In an interview, O’Leary said, “I don’t get in partisan politics. I am down the middle. Down the middle.”

Like Cuban, he believes that entrepreneurship can drive economic growth and improve society. “If you want to hold a rally for small business, I’ll gladly be the keynote but if you want to get into partisan politics that’s no good for me,” O’Leary said. “I care about policy and helping small businesses.”
