Italian newspaper La Repubblica have issued a statement against Roma manager Daniele De Rossi.
During today’s press conference, De Rossi pointed fingers at La Repubblica journalist Marco Juric and accused him of making up stories including the ones that suggested the Roma boss got into heated arguments with Bryan Cristante and Gianluca Mancini.
As a response to De Rossi’s accusations, La Repubblica’s editorial board released the following statement:
“If AS Roma coach Daniele De Rossi does not recognize himself in an article in La Repubblica, he has every right to reply, to have his say, and possibly deny the news reported.”
“The comparison, even conflictual, between those who describe complex realities such as that of the world of professional football and its protagonists has always been there. The issue that worries us is another: Daniele De Rossi should avoid pointing journalists – from any newspaper – to the public, justifying the insults and “hate” via social media.”
“Never more than in these times are there a need for “educational” behaviors, especially on the part of those who have great visibility. And not the other way around.”
