CHP shuts down Northern California illegal gambling operation, recovers nearly $80,000

(FOX40.COM) — Four people were recently arrested in Northern California after a probation search led to the break-up of an illegal gambling operation, stolen merchandise worth about $80,000 and about $30,000 in cash.

A stolen trailer, a gun, and ammunition were also recovered, CHP said.

California Highway Patrol said the search was done on Bear Creek Way in Stockton with the help of the Stockton Police Department and various San Joaquin County agencies.

“The four suspects arrested were Thai Nguyen, 58, Lan Nguyen 51, Nha Hoang 36, and Priya Singh, 40,” the agency said on social media. “The charges range from felony organized retail crimes, felony firearm charges, conspiracy, operating an illegal gambling facility, possession of a stolen vehicle, felon in possession of ammunition and probation violation.”
