A $2 lottery ticket from a popular grocery store made someone in Florida a millionaire.

Though no one matched all five numbers plus the Mega Ball in the Friday, Aug. 30, Mega Millions lottery drawing for $627 million, there was one big winner in the Sunshine State. According to the Florida Lottery, Publix, 1181 S. University Drive, Plantation, sold a winning ticket that matched five numbers and is worth a cool $1 million. It was a Quick Pick ticket. Another ticket from Wisconsin matched five numbers plus the Megaplier to win $4 million, according to Mega Millions’ site.

Winning numbers for Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, were 10-17-20-24-54 and the Mega Ball was 8. Megaplier was 4x.

Though Friday’s Mega Millions drawing resulted in another rollover, that brings the jackpot closer to another billion-dollar prize. Mega Millions is now at $681 million, which ranks No. 7 on the Top 10 biggest lottery jackpots in the history of the game.

The total has a cash option of $336.1 million if the winner(s) opts for a one-time lump sum, according to megamillions.com.
