US-131 lanes back open after crash in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Part of US-131 was shut down Monday evening for a crash that appeared to involve a camper trailer flipped over on the freeway.

At 5:12 p.m., the Michigan Department of Transportation said northbound US-131 was closed at Wealthy Street in Grand Rapids because of a crash.

A News 8 skycam had a view of the crash, where a camper attached to a white pickup truck looks to have flipped over and was blocking all the lanes. An ambulance, firetrucks and police cruisers were spotted at the scene.

It’s not clear what caused the crash or if anyone was injured.

At 6:49 p.m., MDOT said all lanes had reopened.
