CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Brian Tumpowsky joins the Harvard women’s basketball staff ahead of the 2024-25 season as the Coordinator of Player Development and Analytics, Carrie Moore, The Kathy Delaney Head Coach for Harvard Women’s Basketball, announced today.

“I am overjoyed to be joining Carrie Moore, her entire staff, and the incredible student-athletes as an assistant coach of women’s basketball at Harvard University,” says Tumpowsky.  “Basketball has always been a passion of mine, and as I dedicated myself to coaching, mentoring, and empowering young women, I could not have envisioned a more special group of people and university to call home.  Carrie continues to be a rising star in the coaching profession, and when I met her years ago, I knew she was special.  Carrie and the amazing staff she has assembled has Harvard on an upward trajectory, and I’m super excited to be part of the future.  I am grateful to Carrie and everyone at Harvard for giving me this opportunity to shine. I can’t wait to get started!  Go Crimson!”

Before arriving in Cambridge, Tumpowsky spent the last eight years at the helm of the Princeton Girls Hoops AAU program, serving as founder, director, and coach.  For the past two years, Tumpowsky coached at Bucks Country Community College, beginning as an assistant men’s coach before being named the head women’s coach in 2023.

In his coaching career, Tumpowsky has also been on staff for the Princeton University Black and Orange Elite Camp, served as an instructor at multiple Nike Boys and Girls Basketball Camps, and was the director of PG Hoops Academy.

Prior to entering the basketball world, Tumpowsky spent more than 20 years as a technologist in the business world.

“I am thrilled to welcome Brian to our Harvard women’s basketball family,” says Moore.  “He is eager and excited to be here and will make an immediate impact on our staff and team.  I’m so glad he’s finally in Boston and look forward to seeing what this season will bring.”
