JMU men’s basketball head coach Preston Spradlin is hard at work on the recruiting trail, adding key high school verbal commitments in the Dukes’ 2025 recruiting class. Spradlin, who came to JMU after a successful stint at Morehead State, looks like one of the best mid-major recruiters in the country.
Let’s take a closer look at Spradlin’s 2025 class, which includes some of the best verbal commitments in program history.
JMU Men’s Basketball’s 2025 Recruiting Class
Preston Fowler, SF – A four-star prospect, 24/7 Sports gives Fowler a .9516 composite rating. If he signs his national letter of intent to join JMU (he’s just a verbal commitment right now), Fowler will become the highest-rated prospect to ever commit to JMU men’s basketball, per 24/7 Sports.
Fowler also received offers from Oklahoma State and Wake Forest, among others. At 6’8, Fowler boasts ideal small forward size. He’s one of the top high school players in the 2025 class, and it says a lot about the growth of JMU’s men’s basketball program that the Dukes were even in the mix for Fowler’s commitment.
Christian Brown, SF – Brown, a three-star recruit on 24/7 Sports, picked JMU over App State and Murray State. PrepHoops ranks Brown as the top high school player (class of 2025) in Tennessee. He’s a solid addition, and he spoke to us after his visit to Harrisonburg and before he committed to JMU.
