Arne Slot could soon decide to promote a former Man United talent to Liverpool’s first team after his brilliant performances.
Early on in the new Liverpool head coach’s reign at the club, Slot has not utilised the Reds’ academy an awful lot so far.
Even in pre-season, Slot used Liverpool’s academy talent sparsely. Although Trey Nyoni was still able to make his brief moments in the spotlight count and improve his status in the Liverpool squad.
On the whole, though, Slot’s preferred to get to know his first team players and use them in the club’s first few games. However, that could soon be about to change after the international break.

Why Arne Slot could promote Kieran Morrison to Liverpool first team
Liverpool’s U21 side have also began their season in great form with two wins out of their first three games, including a win over Manchester City‘s U21 side in the Premier League 2.
Among the standout players in the squad has been Kieran Morrison. The Northern Irish youth international has scored one goal and registered one assist so far and has carried on his excellent form from U18 level last season.
Left-footed and capable of playing on the right-wing, Morrison’s ability to cut into the middle from the right is very reminiscent of Mohamed Salah at his very best.

The 17-year-old showcased that in Liverpool’s most recent victory against Sunderland, scoring a brilliant left-footed goal from outside the box.
Having arrived from Manchester United’s academy at U14 level, Morrison is very highly rated by the club’s academy staff and has been tipped to go far in the game.
The next step is for him to break into the first team. Under Jurgen Klopp, he’s already trained with the club’s senior squad and if he continues to perform, it won’t be long until Slot promotes him to the first team as well.
