Chris Cenac Jr. sets official visit to Kentucky

Date:

Chris Cenac Jr. is coming to Lexington, at least for one weekend.

Cenac has his official visit scheduled with Kentucky on September 27th. On3’s Joe Tipton broke the news first.

Cenac scheduled multiple visits, including LSU, Auburn, and Tennessee, so he’ll be getting the full SEC workout soon enough. From Branson, Missouri, Cenec is ranked as the second-best power forward in the class of 2025 and the fifth-best player nationally at On3.

He’s the top player from his state. UConn, Alabama, and Arkansas are among the others on Cenac’s shortlist of programs. The 6-foot-10, 210-pound started his high school career in Louisiana at Isidore Newman School but eventually joined Link Academy.

Cenac Jr., a 17-year-old, has also played for USA Basketball, so he’s regarded as one of the most high-ceiling young talents. Here’s an excerpt of what the NBA Draft Room wrote about him.

“Scores well in the post and can face up and operate in the mid-range. Has a nice shooting form and good touch. Has some handles and can drive the ball and shows some play-making ability,” the site noted.

With a 7-foot-3 wingspan, Cenac is going to be able to feast on the defensive end in college. With a knack for using big men to their full potential, Cenac would be a terrific fit in Mark Pope’s system.

Let’s hope Lexington awes him in a couple of weeks.
