COLLEGE GOLF: UTPB begins season with sixth place finish

Sep. 10—LAKEWOOD, Colo. — The UTPB men’s golf team began the 2024-25 season with a sixth place finish out of seven teams at the Writz at Mile high.

The tournament was a 54-hole event with two rounds on Monday and the final round Tuesday.

The Falcons went 315-316-302—933 to finish at plus-69 for the tournament while seventh place South Dakota Mines went 325-317-326—968 to finish at plus-104.

Will Tate led the Falcons after going 75-78-74—227 to take 16th as an individual.

No. 1 Colorado Christian went 277-284-269—830 and finished at minus-34, finishing 57 strokes ahead of second place Colorado Mesa (285-298-304—887).

UTPB will be back at it on Sept. 30 at the RJGA South Central Shootout, hosted by Western New Mexico University.
