Polson’s Milton shoots 3-under at Libby Invitational

Sep. 13—EUREKA — Polson’s Max Milton shot a three-under-par 68 Thursday to take a four-shot lead after one round at the Libby Invitational at Indian Springs Golf Course in Eureka.

Milton leads Whitefish’s Aiden Rickels (72) and Corvallis’ Tag Jessop (73) as the tournament moves to Libby’s Cabinet View Golf Club Friday.

Corvallis leads the team competition with 208 after day one, Whitefish sits in second at 323 and Polson in third at 329.

In the girls competition, Frenchtown’s Katie Lewis leads Bigfork’s Keni Wade by nine strokes after an opening round 68.

Frenchtown also leads the girls team competition at 384 after one round, Hamilton is second at 401 and Bigfork in third with 414. No other school fielded a full girls team at the tournament.
