‘I’d Love To’ – Barcelona Star Offers Transfer Desire for PSG, Tottenham Summer Target

Date:

Paris Saint-Germain was one of several clubs eyeing Athletic Club’s standout player, Nico Williams. Nonetheless, one Barcelona player hopes the Catalan side can win the race next year for him.

During the summer transfer window, Williams caught the eye of top clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona, and PSG.

After an outstanding 2023-24 season, where he made 37 appearances for Athletic Club across all competitions, Williams played a crucial part in Spain’s UEFA Euro 2024 victory in Germany. It’s no surprise that his performances sparked interest from some of Europe’s biggest teams.

However, Lamine Yamal stated in an interview that he hopes Barcelona will sign the player if he is available next summer.

“I’d love to play every week with Nico Williams as part of my squad! He’s my good friend,” Yamal told El Hormiguero. “I don’t know if he will join Barça next season, it’s up to Nico.”

El Chiringuito recently speculated that Williams made it clear that this season is likely to be his last with Athletic Club, saying, “I’m staying for one more year” instead of just “I’m staying.”

It will be interesting to see if Williams decides to stay for one more season and then weigh his options.
