NEW DELHI: Ever since KL Rahul’s animated conversation with Lucknow Super Giants‘ owner Sanjeev Goenka after a heavy defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad went viral, rumours have been circulating about Rahul leaving the franchise and potentially joining Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of the IPL 2025.
In the latest development, a viral video captured a conversation between a fan and Rahul. In the footage, the fan inquires about the possibility of Rahul joining the RCB. In response, the talented right-handed batsman expresses his optimism, stating, “Let’s Hope So.”
“I am a die-hard RCB fan. I have been following RCB for a very long, and you playing past in RCB, and now definitely the rumours; I won’t say anything. But yeah, I am just wishing and praying that you come into RCB and rock here,” the fan said, to which KL replied by saying, “Let’s hope so.”

Rahul commenced his IPL journey with RCB in 2013, representing his home team. However, his stint with RCB was short-lived as he transitioned to Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
In 2016, Rahul found himself back with the Bengaluru-based team, but unfortunately, an injury forced him to sit out the entire 2017 season. Following his release from RCB, Rahul’s IPL career took him to Punjab Kings, where he played from 2018 to 2021.
Rahul has been at the helm of LSG since their debut season in 2022, guiding them to consecutive playoff appearances. However, the team stumbled in the knockout rounds on both occasions.
The 2024 season marked their lowest point, as they finished seventh in the league standings, a significant drop from their previous performances.
